The Burchard residence initially showed signs of wear and tear, with outdated siding, gutter issues, and structural concerns around windows and trim. The original materials and structure had begun to deteriorate, allowing water infiltration and creating vulnerabilities in several areas.
The Renovation Journey
Custom Siding and Flashing Installation
Transition Board Repair: We removed the existing wood trim and lower siding, installing custom aluminum Z-flashing to improve water resistance and durability.
Color-Matched Trim: New MiraTec Trim was added to blend with the existing design, providing a clean and cohesive look.
Gutter and Trim Repairs
Front Upper Gutter: To improve drainage, we reinstalled the front upper gutter with new outlets and elbows, along with a metal pan to protect the shingles.
Back Gutter Adjustments: We shortened and modified the back gutter with new end caps and diverter flashing, addressing overflow issues.
Chimney Chase Cap and Trim Replacement
Custom Chimney Cap: After repairing the chimney trim, we installed a new 24-gauge steel Chimney Chase Cap with X-brace support, providing durability and a refined appearance.
Enhanced Water Protection: Replaced wood trim around the chimney with MiraTec composite trim, securing and painting the trim for a unified finish.
Siding Installation on Rear Bump-Out
Siding Replacement: We installed James Hardie HardieShingle® Siding on the rear bump-out, framed with HardieTrim® Boards.
Window Trim and Flashing: Windows were prepped, flashed, and sealed for a consistent, weatherproof finish.
Custom Aluminum Trim on Rear Sliding Patio Door
Custom-bent aluminum trim was installed around the patio door and transom, enhancing weather resistance while ensuring a sleek finish.
