The Reiles came to The Exterior Zone with a vision of restoring their Oxford home’s exterior to better reflect the quality and craftsmanship they valued. The house needed not only aesthetic improvement but also significant upgrades to improve durability, energy efficiency, and drainage performance. With our expert team and premium product lineup, we tackled this full-scale renovation with a focus on seamless integration, precision installation, and future-proof solutions.
Before
Before our arrival, the Reiles’ home was showing signs of age and weather exposure:
- Vinyl siding was faded and loose in places, with underlying sheathing damage
- Gutter systems were piecemealed and underperforming, with poor drainage across the rear
- Stone veneer features were dated and not adequately bonded
- Soffits and fascia showed evidence of rot and air restriction
- Multiple exterior doors and windows had insulation and trim issues
Scope of Work
This was a comprehensive, multi-zone renovation completed over several weeks:
Roofing Zone
- Removed existing shingles and installed GAF Timberline Ultra HDZ (Charcoal)
- Upgraded with GAF DeckArmor, StormGuard Ice & Water Shield, Cobra Ridge Vent
- Installed black standing seam metal roof on front porch and garage return
- Backed by the GAF Golden Pledge® Warranty—offering 50 years of non-prorated coverage on materials and 25 years on workmanship through certified Master Elite® installation.
Siding Zone
- Full removal of vinyl siding and inspection of all sheathing
- Installed James Hardie Shingle Siding (Iron Gray) and Lap Siding (Pearl Gray)
- Trimmed with Iron Gray HardieTrim and vented soffits
- Constructed new rake/eave overhangs and garage front return platform
- Sagiper V-Groove soffit on front porch for wood-look finish
Masonry Zone
- Installed ProVia Terra Cut manufactured stone veneer in Niagara with limestone sills
- Custom house number block and brick foundation patching
- Stone added above garage door for continuity
Gutter Zone
- Installed 6″ seamless black aluminum gutters with Raytec hidden hangers
- HydroFlo micro-mesh gutter guards for low-maintenance debris protection
- 6 new downspouts and splash guards at high-flow areas
Door & Window Zone
- Installed insulated steel garage door (Graywood) with smart opener
- Replaced sliding patio doors and garage-to-home entry door with new energy-efficient units
- Replaced master bedroom windows with Aeris pocket units
